Ex UK CFO and Chief Internal Auditor AstraZeneca Plc  to Join the Strategic Advisory Board at Government Interrelations.

The Advisory Board provides a strategic overview of Government Interrelations activity and advises on Government Interrelations developments

After 25years experience in the Chemical and Pharmaceutical industries, in ICI, Zeneca and AstraZeneca Mike has retired from AZ and is enthusiastic about taking on some new challenges. His recent experience as UKCFO and Finance Director of UK Business Services in AstraZeneca are  particularly useful in assisting Government Interrelations in its work with the NHS to help with the efficiency and innovation agenda as outlined in Lord Darzi’ NSR.

Mike has led the delivery of a number of productivity and efficiency initiatives in relation to the business infrastructure of AstraZeneca, working to make things more efficient and effective for those business customers (11,000 in the UK) who invent, make and sell pharmaceuticals.

A number of his Corporate Finance and Business roles have involved delivering national and global change projects, streamlining processes and significant organisational restructuring. This work has involved considerable stakeholder influencing, management and business case benefits delivery.

Mike commented on his involvement stating

‘I enjoy working with  young, energetic organisations and wish to assist Government Interrelations develop it’s business model in an appropriate way, as I believe strongly in its objectives and motives for being in business to improve patient outcomes. Their enthusiasm and passion for healthcare is admirable and contagious'.
